If you run a marketing agency, or want to start one, you have almost certainly heard of HighLevel. In this gohighlevel review, I look at what the platform actually includes, what it costs in 2026, the hidden usage fees, how it handles GDPR for European clients, and whether it is worth it for agencies in the US, UK and Europe.

Every price and feature below comes from HighLevel’s official pricing page and privacy policy, checked in October 2026. Prices are in US dollars; I did not see euro pricing on the official page.

What Is GoHighLevel?

GoHighLevel (the company now mostly calls itself HighLevel) is an all-in-one sales and marketing platform designed mainly for agencies. HighLevel is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Instead of paying separately for a CRM, funnel builder, email tool, SMS tool, booking app and review software, you get them in one system, and you can give each client their own sub-account.

HighLevel’s own FAQ says most users replace their CRM, funnel builder, email marketing software, appointment scheduler, SMS marketing tools and review management software with it.

Key Features for Agencies

CRM and Pipelines

A full CRM with pipelines, custom dashboards and reporting. You can track every lead from first contact to closed deal, for your agency and for each client.

Website and Funnel Builder

Build websites, landing pages and funnels with custom domains. Funnel AI can help draft pages faster.

Email, SMS and Calling

Email and SMS marketing, inbound and outbound calling, and unified conversations, so all messages from a lead appear in one inbox. These are usage-based, which I explain below.

Workflow Automation

Workflows can trigger follow-ups, reminders, tags and pipeline moves automatically. This is where HighLevel shines for agencies: you can build a lead follow-up system once and reuse it across clients using “Snapshots”, which HighLevel describes as pre-built accounts for industries like real estate, dentists and gyms.

Reputation Management and Reviews

Online reputation management and Reviews AI help clients request and respond to reviews, a popular service for local businesses.

AI Tools

Conversation AI, Voice AI, Content AI, Funnel AI and Reviews AI are listed. Some AI features have usage-based charges, and there are optional AI Employee add-on plans.

Other Tools

Social media management, an ad manager, forms, surveys and quizzes, booking calendars, a prospecting tool, payments and invoicing, courses, communities, a mobile app and API access.

White Label and SaaS Mode

HighLevel lets you white-label the desktop web app so clients see your logo. On the Agency Pro plan, SaaS Mode lets you sell HighLevel as your own software with automatic sub-account creation and rebilling of usage with your own markup.

Usage-Based Fees (Read This Before You Sign Up)

HighLevel’s FAQ is clear that the subscription covers platform features, but usage-based costs apply for phone numbers, SMS, emails sent and premium AI usage. Its disclaimer also says these usage fees may apply during the free trial. On the Unlimited and Agency Pro plans, you can rebill these costs to clients, and on Agency Pro you can add a markup.

GDPR and Data Location for European Agencies

If your agency or your clients are in the EU or UK, this section matters.

  • HighLevel’s privacy policy says it is a global company headquartered in the United States and may transfer personal information between the US and its affiliates.
  • It says HighLevel LLC and LeadConnector LLC comply with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
  • It lists rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR and Swiss nFADP, such as access, portability, correction and deletion.

I could not confirm from the public pages whether HighLevel offers EU-only data hosting, so if a client requires data to stay inside the EU, ask HighLevel directly before you commit. Also remember that as an agency you will usually be a data processor for your clients, so you need your own processing agreements with them, plus proper consent for email and especially SMS, which has strict rules in the UK and EU.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Unlimited contacts and users on every plan.
  • Replaces many separate tools for both your agency and clients.
  • Sub-accounts, white label and SaaS Mode create recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Snapshots let you reuse proven setups across clients.
  • 14-day free trial, no long-term contract.
  • Supports Stripe, PayPal, Square, Adyen, NMI, Authorize.net and more.

Cons

  • Usage-based fees for SMS, phone, email and AI can be hard to predict.
  • Many useful extras are paid add-ons per sub-account.
  • Steep learning curve because of the sheer number of features.
  • US-based; EU-only data hosting not confirmed.
  • Overkill for a solo creator who only needs a funnel and an email list.

Which Plan Should Your Agency Choose?

  • Starter ($97/month): best for a freelancer or new agency with up to 3 clients, or a single business. HighLevel says it is “perfect for smaller businesses and solo marketers”.
  • Unlimited ($297/month): the plan HighLevel marks as most popular. Best once you pass 3 clients, because sub-accounts become unlimited and your software cost stays flat as you grow.
  • Agency Pro ($497/month): for agencies that want to sell software subscriptions under their own brand and profit from usage markups.

Agency Examples

  • A two-person agency in Manchester serving dental clinics could use one Snapshot for booking, reminders and review requests, then deploy it for each new clinic on the Unlimited plan.
  • A US real estate marketing agency in Florida might use SMS follow-ups, pipelines and calling heavily, so usage fees should be built into client pricing.
  • A boutique agency in Amsterdam serving EU clients should review HighLevel’s Data Privacy Framework participation with clients and get a DPA in place before migrating contact lists.

How to Get the Most From the 14-Day Trial

  1. Days 1–3: set up your agency account, connect a domain and import a small test list (with consent records).
  2. Days 4–7: build one funnel, one booking calendar and one lead follow-up workflow for a real or sample client.
  3. Days 8–11: test email and SMS sending, and note the usage costs that appear in your account.
  4. Days 12–14: decide on a plan, or cancel before billing starts if it is not right for you.

Alternatives

If you do not serve clients and just want funnels and email, HighLevel may be more than you need. ClickFunnels is a focused funnel builder for product sellers; see my GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels comparison. If budget is tight, or you want EU-hosted data, Systeme.io has a free-forever plan and paid plans from $17/month. Read my Systeme.io review.

FAQ: GoHighLevel Review

How much does GoHighLevel cost?

$97/month for Starter, $297/month for Unlimited and $497/month for Agency Pro, with annual options at $970, $2,970 and $4,970 per year. Usage-based fees and optional add-ons are extra.

Is there a GoHighLevel free trial?

Yes, a 14-day free trial on any plan. Billing starts automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel, and usage fees may apply during the trial.

Is GoHighLevel GDPR compliant?

HighLevel’s privacy policy says it participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and it lists GDPR rights. Compliance also depends on how your agency collects consent and manages client data.

Can I white-label GoHighLevel?

Yes. You can white-label the desktop web app on all plans, according to the FAQ. SaaS Mode is on Agency Pro, and a white-label mobile app is a $497/month add-on.

Is GoHighLevel good for solo business owners?

It can be, using the Starter plan. But if you only need funnels and email, a simpler tool will usually be cheaper.

Verdict: Is GoHighLevel Worth It for Agencies?

My gohighlevel review verdict: for agencies, yes. HighLevel is one of the most complete platforms you can buy for managing leads, follow-up, reviews and client funnels, and unlimited contacts and users keep costs flat as you grow. The Unlimited plan is the sweet spot for most growing agencies. Just budget for usage fees and add-ons, and if you serve EU clients, sort out data processing agreements early.

The best way to know if it fits is to test it with a real client workflow during the 14-day trial.
